Prevention and relief of metatarsal pain with biomechanical insole
What is metatarsalgia?
Metatarsalgia is a common foot condition in which pain often occurs in the forefoot area of the foot. It is usually caused by excessive pressure or strain on the forefoot, damaging the fat pad underneath the metatarsal head, and manifests itself mainly as a long-term, chronic, severe pain.
There are many causes of metatarsal pain. Prolonged standing, walking and overexertion can lead to local soft tissue compression and the formation of sterile inflammation. In daily life, you should choose more comfortable shoes and avoid exercising in wet and cold environments. You can also apply physiotherapy or heat to the affected area for relief. If the fracture or misalignment of the metatarsal bone is caused by trauma, prompt surgery should be performed.
How orthotic insoles solve this problem？
The natural positioning of the foot by the insole allows the shock absorbing tissues of the foot to be naturally optimised, reducing the damage caused by excess pressure on the foot. The supportive insole helps the foot to bear the load and distribute the pressure evenly, providing relief for people suffering from metatarsalgia and plantar fasciitis or other foot injuries. Runners with metatarsalgia are particularly likely to benefit from supportive insoles with metatarsal pads, as they will also help to promote a balance of forces on the foot.
